k-bigpicWith copy deadline a few weeks off, we’re trying to think of how to incorporate an extra round of proofreading into the NQ cycle. Grammar mistakes may not make or break an issue, but they do clutter it, they can be a speckled screen between the reader and the writer. We really, really try to find and fix them. What’s the #1 error? Probably using “It’s” as a possessive. “It’s” of course is a contraction and means “It is.” (Note the quotation marks after the period, by the way, another frequent slip-up.)
